Even the diehard hand-tool-only woodworker will find dozens of tips on workshop setups and accessories that will make life more organized. And if you happen to have some new fangled electron-enhanced tools, the ideas for jigs and modifications to make tools more efficient or versatile will truly add to the pleasure and safety of your workshop experience.
Sooner or later you will find the need to make or repair or modify metal tools or parts, and many practical (and money saving) ideas are described in detail. While some projects involve specialized equipment, most are simple to accomplish with basic workshop tools. (In others, for example needing a weld, it could be done by a galoot friend or neighbourhood garage inexpensively.) Employing only a few of the ideas here will repay the modest used price of this now out of print book.
The icing on this cake is the friendly conversational tone of the author -- you feel almost like you know him after awhile, and would enjoy his company like the good folks in the Oldtools group. An enjoyable read and fine reference.
