Wood: various
Finish: Danish oil
I have actually made several of these - the pictures I have are from the last one, as near as I can remember. At some point, it occurred to me that anyone can make a rectangular box - where's the challenge in that? I have done some that were trapezoidal (e.g., the treasure box that I originally made for my late stepfather and eventually inherited). But in the interest of exploring boxes with any number of sides other than four, I figured a triangle was a good place to start. At very least, the geometry is pretty easy to deal with.
The box bodies were made from various woods that I had around. The top of this one is curly maple, since I had a lot of scraps of appropriate size. I think the side length is about eight inches. Since I am making this web page years after making the box, the memory has gotten a little fuzzy.
